I think one of my favorite memories of my hubby Bart is one that I was not even present for. Anyone who knows my family knows that they are a wild and rowdy group. I am the oldest girl of 10 kids... 8 of which are boys!
When Bart went to meet them before we were married he found this out first hand in an unforgettable way.....
Bart had fallen asleep in a comfy chair in our living room when he felt something going up and down his arm. He brushed it aside at first and then felt it again. This time he opened his eyes which became even wider to find my dad running a rather large knife up and down his arm and all of my brothers standing around with guns & ropes. They tied Bart up and brought him out to the shop to interrogate him. Brian even lit his hand on fire. Smart, huh? :) (Brian is actually very smart. I hear this is a pretty cool trick that doesn't actually hurt.)
I am so grateful that my mom and Krystal snuck in another room in the shop to listen in on the "interview" because Bart gave some rather terrific answers (girls dish the good stuff so well ;). And here is the highlite of the story; when one of my brothers asked Bart, "How are you going to protect my sister!?" He simply replied, "With my very life." I know that is true and it still gives me chills to think that someone would care about me that much.
Thank you, Bart for all that you do. You are wonderful and I love you dearly! BTW, from what I understand, Bart was an excellent sport about the whole ordeal.
